The cotton squares are carefully stitched so there is no possibility of the beads "wandering" - they only work and move within their pockets. The microscopic glass beads are completely safe, naturally rounded and enclosed between the layers of linen. They are most commonly used in weighted blankets to ensure the hygiene of the blanket - allowing it to be washed and dried quickly.
